Why to choose Skanska Oppiva?
Skanska Oppiva is a paid three-year internship program tailored for university students studying construction-related fields, structured to be completed alongside your studies. During the program, you will develop your skills and explore your interests in the field by gaining practical work experience over three summers.
In addition to summer internships, the program includes some development tasks and coaching days held in spring and autumn (coaching days only in Finnish). During these sessions, you will learn work-life skills, gain a comprehensive understanding of opportunities in construction, and network with other Oppiva participants across Finland.
The goal is for your career to continue with Skanska after completing the internship program.
What will you do during your internship?
As an Oppiva intern in residential construction in Southern Finland, you will help build various homes suited for different life situations. For example, we build senior apartments for Folkhälsan in Haaga and unique residences in Helsinki Koirasaari.
In the internship, you will get broad exposure to different tasks on the construction site. As you gain experience, you will take on more responsibility and progress to a site management trainee role.
You will also join an inspiring and supportive work community where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. We continuously learn from each other and work effectively as teams. We care about people and the environment and believe we are better together.
What do we expect from you?
You are currently studying to become a construction supervisor or engineer and are specializing in your studies in site supervision, construction production, or project management. Previous experience in the field is not required. The most important things are your positive attitude, motivation to learn, and that you share our values. In addition, we value excellent English language skills and willingness to learn Finnish.
